Your post actually sent me spiraling because I was starting to wonder if they'd scrapped that in the "aggressive changes" mentioned back in October. Don't like looking too hard into this stuff but there's actually a position up on their careers site for enemy AI dev, so I think us PvE guys are safe

The major thing to me is that they aren't randomly assigned to a player, they're chosen pre-match. It kinda reminds me of Covenants, though I imagine there'll be more than just "hunt" and "befriend"

Really feel like From should have featured at least 1 biome(volcano or swamp are the ones that have been mentioned) in the Nightreign network test to show how that works since I feel like a lot of people are gonna come away from the Network Test thinking that there isn't much map variation

I gotta agree with most soulstubers on this one so far, it's a fun idea that could get very old very quick if the game doesn't have a ton more variation in maps, enemies and abilities but I'm hoping From are aware of that and are holding a lot back.

Both Guardian and Wylders ults were fun to use, love shoving my fist up a dragons asshole and making it explode with Wylder. I did have a little trouble getting Wylders grapnel, trying to slip it into combat can be troublesome

-Passive abilities you gain from mini bosses range from "+10% to FP/HP" to "+15% on elemental abilities", which could be really dull, but then occasionally you'd get something really cool like "when slow walking rain down stars" or " dodge and lightning hits where you were".

and as Guardian I picked up a couple which would generate Phalanx and Giant Phalanx's which meant I could tank through damage with my shield while still breaking poise. Don't think I'd ever want in a baseline Souls borne game though

Big fan of weapons having passives though, it's essentially rolling talismans into weapons and making them even more unique than in base ER. Given I was playing Wylder, I really leaned into passives which improved things like guard break when 2 handing

-Tying to juggle inventory was difficult but as time went on it got a lot easier. If I'd had more time I probably would have fucked around more with the sparring to figure stuff I liked but as is, lots of my juggling was me trying to figure out weapons I never used in base ER.

-The map was fun but like most previewers said, it definitely needs an injection of new biomes like the previously mentioned swamp and volcano. As was, I got about 5/6 runs in and by the end was starting to feel bored of not-Limgrave. Even palette swaps would be nice.

character ie a blue relic will have a [Duchess] ability making it seemingly useless.I'm wondering if in the full game there'll be ways to swap slots out, gain additional slots or do some sort of transmog to change relic colours. If not looks like you can just sell them

What was especially weird was that relics can generate with an ability specifically for one of the characters ie "[Wylder] Art will cause flame to spread round area" which is an interesting addition but sometimes these generate on a relic which can't be used by the corresponding

-Each character, at the start, has 3 slots. Wylder has 1 blue slot and 2 red slot, Guardian has 2 yellow and 1 red, Duchess had 3 green slots and I can't remember Recluse.
