I do not want to imply that cooking oil is not implicated in early CRC. It likely participates in this phenomenon among other factors such as sedentary life, ultra-processed foods, alcohol... We need robust epidemiological evidence to unveil the contribution of these factors to the rise of incidence

We still don't know why CRC is increasing in younger population. Cooking oil has been around since more than 100 years, yet early CRC onset started increasing the 90s in western countries, hinting at another probable set of causes

If I may chime in, I find it quite a stretch to claim that cooking oil increases risk in young people: The study offers an observational snapshot of CRC patients, lacking focus on young individuals. No dietary information or long-term data were used to assess how diet might impact observed patterns.
