Yeah, and it's so infuriating, isn't it? My TSH has never once matched my actual symptoms. And I felt so much better on a tiny dose of natural thyroid with a TSH of 30+ than I did on synth with "perfect" TSH levels. It's so tiring seeing doctors treating blood test results instead of patients!

I'm so sorry, it's just so horrible, isn't it? I just can't fathom why anyone would think it's okay to do this 😭

I have only seen EDS patients talk about it. But it makes so much sense!

I just searched online for "lipedema connective tissue disorder" and found several medical articles that discuss it.

But even 10 years ago, there was nothing about it in medical literature that I could find. Only patients.

I very likely have EDS and I also have lipedema. It blew my mind when another EDS person pointed out that lipedema is more common with EDS patients because, like everything else, it's a connective tissue problem.

Most doctors I meet have never even heard of lipedema. All fat is the same to them. 😭

the most common experience of being an artist in any capacity is doing a lot of work seriously and rigorously for years and learning to be ok with it not finding an audience. this is like the inverse of that in every way

do you tolerate stuff like tea tree oil or clove oil? I know it sounds weird but with my MCAS I'm really sensitive to a ton of things (including most laundry detergents and also mold) but have found that a few drops of tea tree oil or clove oil in the wash can clear up funky smells great. YMMV ofc!

this is a prescription medicine used since literally the late 19th century, and it’s full-spectrum — we only have invented 2 synthetic thyroid hormones, there are 5 used by the body!!

My thyroid hormone levels were a mess for the next 6 months until we got the dose right and I DID NOT CARE. Because I got everything back; I got my life back. And I was so much better. And all the doctors who watched me go through this are converts to NTE now because they saw it happen in real time.

My thyroid hormone levels were technically "normalised" on the synth meds.

I was a fucking wreck. I couldn't function. I could barely stay awake. I lost my creativity; my will to live. I cried fifty times a day. Nothing helped.

I found someone to switch me to NTE and I turned around IMMEDIATELY.

And this is so telling:

Normalising thyroid hormone levels. Not treating symptoms; no improving patient quality of life.

P.S. sorry, I just realised it's called DTE (desiccated thyroid extract) in the FDA thing and the petition.

My doctor and everyone I've spoken to here in Australia calls it NTE (natural thyroid extract) so that's what I'm used to.

But it's the same thing. Ours is imported from the USA.

Something that I have been thinking about with attribution of "PhD level intelligence" or "PhD level expertise" to a machine is that it reflects an increasing trend among these AI bros and their sycophants to want the products of highly skilled training without actually doing any of the work.
