19.02.2026 17:35 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What happened to Juventus? I thought at one point they were one of the more stable Italian teams, largely because they built and own their own stadium?

Is this one of the teams Viktor Orban has pumped loads of money into?
07.02.2026 17:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Theyโre talking about it in the Baltic countries (๐ฑ๐น๐ฑ๐ป๐ช๐ช) where the countries are small and where football is not that popular. The collective advantages you get from doing it are pretty obvious but itโs up against a lot of conservatism and national interests
30.01.2026 16:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Did you see his penalty against Brentford? I found it comical that after Wolves had 2 points after 16 games and 2-0 down, Larsen decides to take one of those penalties with the slow run ups, easily saved by the goalkeeper - cue well deserved boos from the crowd. As if their season wasnโt bad enough!
30.01.2026 15:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Maybe it wasnโt the economy stupid in the last US election either?
30.01.2026 12:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The only viable solution I can think of is cross-border leagues. Lots of countries are too small to have competitive domestic leagues, and would have more power if they merged. They thought about merging the Dutch and Belgian leagues but itโs probably not going to happen any time soon.
29.01.2026 17:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Conference League probably has that effect as well, and I say that as someone more interested in the Conference League than Champions League. Itโs a hell of a lot of money for clubs and leagues whose revenue streams are practically nonexistent
29.01.2026 13:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Also no one really seems to care that much about whether they finish in the top 8 or not. Youโd have thought Real Madrid and PSG would have won tonight if they really wanted to
28.01.2026 22:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In theory all the teams from each pot before draws are meant to be of similar strength, but the lower English teams will all be stronger than their coefficients suggest. Itโs cool that Bodo Glimt qualified but I wasnโt interested enough to watch it this evening
28.01.2026 22:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Turns out that executing defenseless, disarmed US citizens might not be very popular.
26.01.2026 18:25 โ ๐ 209 ๐ 30 ๐ฌ 17 ๐ 3You could not write this Afcon final. It would have really stuck it to FIFA and VAR if Senegal had walked off, but they were going to lose anyway so they might as well have just faced the penalty. And then that penalty. Never seen anything like it - bonkers
18.01.2026 21:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0All of these people - Mogg, Farage, Carswell, Jenrick, Hannan and the rest need to be forever reminded of what they backed and supported

03.01.2026 16:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Bishopโs distribution resembled his namesake chess piece - diagonal and out of play! Hard to believe the run of results at the start of the season given tonight. Probably over 50 points required to stay up, not 42 like season 21-22
29.12.2025 23:15 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Stopped clock is right twice a day. Their criticism of Starmer doesnโt count for much when their solution is still Corbyn
28.12.2025 17:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0But football clubs arenโt really supposed to be something for everyone, for all fans around the world. Their history is rooted in the place they come from. The core fanbase has to always be its domestic local fanbase. Fans abroad will never be fans in the same way the locals are
07.10.2025 09:11 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Albeit without the arrogance and simplistic discussion of how theyโre going to make loads of efficiency savings and cut the waste of the incumbent government that they have such contempt for
06.10.2025 09:47 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Feels pretty hard to care about the Champions League with the new format these days. Donโt know if thatโs reflected in attendance or viewership etc. Exciting if youโre trying to make the top 24 but not really for everyone else it seems
