They wanted an approachable fighter to bring new people into the genre, so 1-button specials and magic series combos.
Then they put that simple core in a super-grimy tag fighter that would shock a MvC3 vet.
Who was this for?

Baffling. I feel bad because there are a lot of people on the 2XKO staff I like, but predicting this was a gimmie.
10 characters at launch in a tag fighter?
Skin packs that cost more than a full retail game?
Whole systems being re-tooled right up to launch?
None of that points to a happy ending
