It's worth it! I don't remember having to book specific camp sites (went last year), as they're all rustic, un-numbered, without tables/fire pits or anything. But you need permits to camp in the park.

That's frustrating! I would assume the ban is in place until someone applies to have it lifted, which can be a laborious process requiring written and oral arguments in a hearing.
