We shouldn't demonize whole groups of people with lies and fear mongering in order to dehumanize them by taking away their God-given constitutional rights and dignity.

And directly lying that this was the messaging the whole time.

Racism is a sin. Dehumanization is antithetical to the gospel.

The amount of racism Christians have justified throughout history is sickening. And still it continues.

There's a difference between people hating you because you're following the teachings of Jesus, and people hating you because you're a jerk.

Unfortunately white evangelicals these days keep using the Bible as an excuse for being a jerk. They miss the point entirely and use God's name in vain.

FWIW, when Jesus said "the world will hate you," it was because he was preaching freedom for the oppressed in a world run by empire. He wasn't saying it as a justification for white evangelicals 2000 years later to behave like empire regardless of how their neighbors feel about it.

The president has gone to war with his own citizens to punish them for the crime of not voting for him. He’s a scumbag dictator and he deserves all the appropriate remedies.

Yes, the executive branch is meant to be held accountable by the legislative and the judicial branches. If only they were working as intended.
