And I also think no amount of “people don’t realize” preaching is going to make people understand until it happens to them because if it happens to someone else - anyone else - it’s seen as a failure of that someone else

I think a lot of people really don’t realize how close they are to this being their reality - I have been without full-time employment for less than 8 months total since I turned 18 and more than once I was worried I was going to lose my living situation

1 in 9 of the children we enrolled this past school year did not have a stable housing situation. Some lived in cars, some in our Agency’s shelters, more than one was staying with a parent with a history of domestic violence because there was nowhere else to go.

It’s. Outrageous.
