lol laziness is exactly the issue, i've never gotten myself to consistently update any concert tracker except this. movies and books are comparatively so easy!

that was part of what sealed the deal for me, because the answer is: a google sheet that i manually add rows to. and so I had to write a little "parser" on the receiving end, whereas for the other ones i just used an RSS library

(i do wish jsonfeed.org or something like it had found success, but ah well)

and in a way, an API that's a very open standard can be the basis for much more generative development. the podcast ecosystem could not have emerged from a single site's API

i love blogs and RSS, and advocate for them often, and i sometimes run into developers that are mystified by the technology. but it's really just an advertised endpoint that returns content in a mediocre, mostly-standardized XML package!
