Fwiw, I've been looking for the last hour and can't find a recent poll from a reputable organization w/r/t the question of American Jews' thoughts on antisemitism. I bet something will come out in the next few months though. I also bet that the current war will have changed people's attitudes.

I just deleted a post, though, which said that the AJC is self-interested w/r/t Jewish life just like any other lobbying group is self-interested party w/r/t their issue. E.g. the National Rifle Association is self-interested w/r/t gun violence. I wouldn't support using AJC polls if possible.

There are nuances among all of these questions. I don't want to speculate about what Jews do or don't think. If it's necessary to get polling data, I think a good person to consult first is Dahlia Scheindlin. There are nuances to all of these questions, though.

I honestly don't understand why you've typed that. What I just wrote, based on an American media diet, is not unusual or controversial. I guess it's not being said regularly in Germany that Israel is engaged a genocide or ethnic cleansing?

I use the word "likely" in reference to Gaza because it's possible that it's only an ethnic cleansing.

Gaza and Auschwitz are similar by way of the fact that they're likely both part of genocides. They differ in specifics, but that's not consequential at the moment, in my opinion. What's important to recognize is that a genocide is likely going on in Gaza, and a genocide went on at Auschwitz.

Also, I think Holocaust relativism is not seen as the same as Holocaust trivialization usually. "Never again" can mean either "Never again for Jews" or "Never again for anyone." I think among most Americans under 40 years old, it means the latter, and that's not considered antisemitism.

The older generation of Jews have very different opinions. They definitely see any criticism of Israel as antisemitic. And they're the ones who donate to Harvard, Penn, MIT, etc.
