Interesting looking at the Broadway info for Stalag 17. Jason Robards made his Broadway debut in it, with Jose Ferrer producing and directing. Both the writers (one of whom had a minor role in the film) had been POWs, with one incarcerated in....Stalag Luft 17B

Reading the news about the train attack. Have huge admiration for the quick thinking of the LNER team, and particularly for the member of staff who risked his own life to save a passenger. Hoping that he will make a full recovery.

I certainly used that route around the time I was ill. And have often seen the fast train going through at Huntingdon when I've been catching the slightly slower train to London. Awful thing to happen

Only in Liverpool can you spot a pixie and pirates heading out on a boat. Dining before strolling round the River of Light display

Yikes! Thank goodness he didn't have an accident. Friend was driving uninsured (mistake partly caused by confusion at the insurer's end). Such complications when there was an accident (not their fault)

Another lovely day this time in Ripon. Sweet Anglo-Saxon crypt, what look like some of the biggest organ pipes in the country, and a creepy hand (no idea whose!) in the choir
