pretty sure the main appeal of superheroes for most people is as a power fantasy and in that sense they have a lot in common with cops

but those suggesting we voted our way into this, let alone that we can simply vote our way out of it, are doing more harm than good by continuing to ignore the severity of the situation and shift the blame away from the corrupt people and systems which deserve it in my view.

Voting with the goal of showing support for the ideal of a democracy and making it at least a little more obvious how many of us are in opposition to current affairs isn't a bad idea-

-for some portion of us being coerced into picking which specific figureheads get to ignore our needs and sell us all out time after time, let alone our democratic will.

I can't imagine a way out of this without people coming to understand that those in power and their systems for maintaining it are entirely illegitimate and not a fair collective punishment-

The way I see it, the idea that Americans ultimately chose this state of affairs is a horrible perversion of reality and a myth which benefits no one more than those who have exploited the system for how undemocratic it really is.

I can't fault anyone for voting or not in these situations if they've actually taken the time to thoughtfully consider what it means and, most importantly, what else they can do besides voting like you have.
