Set out to write a sparse Feldman-inspired piece, and immediately started writing instrumental power pop. It's like pushing a gyroscope.

Ok, yeah, that’s a reasonable solution, I think. Rather elegant.

Ok, 42 tracks, so an even 20 plays through.

I dunno—the different lengths suggest real performances. I recall reading the suggestion that a full playing would require putting the CD on repeat for some number of plays.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
