… of politicians who have been murdered over recent years and attacks on others. We cannot simply dismiss things like this, as I had already said in relation to Badenoch the other day, as the last horrendous hurrah of a dying party. The harm can still be very real even if it is. /end

When Rupert’s not busy keeping the Great Yarmouth coastline safe from charity rowers he can be found up lampposts making everyone feel safer with a flag. Why aren’t more MP’s doing this?

Fast-fashion recycling: how β€˜the castoff capital of the world’ is making Indian factory workers sick Reports of lung disease, skin conditions and even cancer are rising in Panipat, which recycles 1 million tonnes of textile waste a year

β€œworking environment is insufferable… We routinely come across cases of breathing issues, migraine, skin infections, even cancer.… risks are even higher in bleaching & dyeing units, where labourers handle toxic chemicals eg sulphuric acid with their bare hands.”

No sudden rupture is now required for the far right to take power in this country. For what we're seeing is a steady normalisation of extremists by the Conservative and Labour Parties, BBC, Telegraph, Mail and others. A shift once considered unthinkable beings to look acceptable, even inevitable.🧡

Robin Williams daughter Zelda is pleading with people to stop creating AI videos of her Dad.

I’m pleading with you to stop using generative AI.

It’s destructive to the environment.

It’s destructive to artists.

It’s destructive to humanity.

It steals from us and churns out slop.

Just stop.

Coverage of Jenrick today basically amounts to sane-washing. He didn't criticise judges. He claimed there was a conspiracy by certain judges, who he had discovered and could number, to undermine British law and create open borders.

#RobertJenrick is yet again pushing his Party to the far right, and not only will Badenoch be too weak to sack him, I don’t think she’ll want to. This is today’s Tory Party. #r4today

It is the duty of our media to inform and report on the bad actors who threaten our very existence. Russia, Iran, the Taliban, Farage, Robinson, Tice, Reform. Yet they won’t and they don’t. Because they’re on the take too. There is no other reason. None. They’re all traitors.

Isn’t it ironic then that the majority of the backlash to Gary Neville’s comments would come from (checks notes) angry middle aged white men.

The thing that is really being "replaced" is money.

Things we owned - infrastructure, property, land... - are being handed over to foreigners.

That's how we are losing our country

Brexit made us poorer and speeded this up.

Those selling our country deflect & distract by pointing at brown people.

These are spectacularly ignorant comments by Lam regarding people seeking asylum. For one thing, they massively ignore that most refugees remain in their region of origin. Most refugees aren't hopping on a flight to the UK, and most wouldn't even if they could.

A 27% of the population supported by the far right and a biased media were allowed to rip us out of the EU.
Then a Labour government voted in with a huge majority by people hungry for change, changed nothing. Indeed it’s continued the damage from Brexit.
I’m angry.

Starmer is talking about "British values" again.

Ironically, he's doing this just as the closest thing we have to a codification of British values - the European Convention on Human Rights - is under attack from the Tories and Farage, and even undermined by Starmer’s own Government.

Badenoch on #r4today saying they will "have returns agreements", yet we already know that many countries won't implement them. Now spreading it to "third party countries", such as Rwanda. The Rwanda plan was not stopped "because of the ECHR". The lack of honesty about what the ECHR does is massive.

The government must ensure fair distribution of income 'The average real wage of workers has hardly moved from the 2008 level whilst bosses never had it so good.'

The state we're in

UK full-time employee median wage, Β£30,816.
4.5m jobs pay less than the real Living Wage.
1.17m workers on zero-hour contracts.
34% of Universal Credit claimants are in work.
16m Britons live in poverty.

Can't build economy on poverty.

Must increase worker share of GDP.

I say this with the bluntness it requires: they will get people murdered if this continues. This is not just populism anymore either: it’s completely unhinged and a deliberate choice that does endanger lives. I am not saying this lightly at all.
