I spent an excessive number of years moderating a gaming forum and I learned a great deal about community spaces and cultivation, whether I wanted to or not. I have critical advice for anyone who runs a game store or gaming convention. Please share this thread with people who run those things.

it’s going to be weird going back to work and people talking like everything is normal. like in a final fantasy game when someone’s summoned a meteor from hell to destroy the planet and the villagers still only talk about the big chocobo pageant coming up

Now, I recently compiled a list of ~30 games I have on my shelves that I want to play and haven't yet. In 2026 I hope to run 26 new games, one every 2 weeks. I figure I'll get maybe half, but that's still a jump from the 2 or 3 new games I played in '25.

I see folks are posting lists of ten games they want to play in the new year - fortuitous!

I'd bet that's a vent with an undone button that we just can't see in the clip. Some greatcoats & raincoats w/ a single vent have buttons to control the depth of the vent. Super deep vents like that are usually a holdover from military styling for riding motorcycles & horses.
