He was one of those people who like to argue just for the sake of arguing without feeling the need to try and focus on resolving disagreements and finding middle grounds. That’s not someone that I can be exactly mournful over, especially considering the reaction his death has caused.

This is a classic example of reaping what you sow. On a granular level I can appreciate Turning Point USA’s mission because college is about learning from different viewpoints, but at the same time I vehemently disagree with Charlie’s rhetoric and political views.

The time for cosplanning for DragonCon 2026 starts now! I’m being ambitious next year and finally bringing an idea I had years ago to life. It’ll be quite a lot of work, I’m sure, but I’m excited to start and hopefully I’ll do Chernabog some justice.

But most importantly I spent the weekend with my incredible con family and my closest 75k friends. There really is no con like DragonCon and I’m counting down the days until next year.

I met the lovely Samantha Béart, Tim Downie, Emma Gregory and Amelia Taylor, aka Karlach, Gale, Minthara and the Narrator from BG3 at the Walk of Fame. I got to play a couple of TTRPG’s with my boyfriend (whose first time at DC this was). I spent far too much money at the Vendors Hall.

Another DragonCon has come and gone. I think I went to a record low number of panels this year (only 2). No fault of the programming this year, but I just found so many other ways to spend the weekend.

If the Oceangate incident a few summers ago has taught me anything it’s that the day it happens will lead the funniest, most glorious meme week ever.

My Durge is a Circle of the Stars druid/life domain cleric. Astarion is going to be a bladesinging arcane trickster and Wyll is going to be a College of Swords bard/Pact of the Blade warlock.

So I started a new playthrough of BG3 about a month ago. I haven’t gotten very far as I just not hit level 4. But I’m doing 3 multiclasses like a psychopath.

Went to see Ghost last night at Louisville and this is all I have to show for it. At the risk of sounding like an Old Person I’m glad they had a no-phones policy for their tour. It was so nice being able to enjoy the show without hundreds of little screens blocking the view. I wish more bands did it

So, yes. Kindness is about as punk rock as The Ramones. And in a world as bitter and angry and cynical as it is right now I think we all could be a little bit more punk rock. 🤘

Through the years this led to a lot of advocacy for women's rights, LGBTQIA+ rights and just human rights in general. You know, being *kind* to people who may be different than you are and standing up for people who are “othered.”

Watching Superman wasn’t the first time I’d heard someone say that being punk means to be kind. Goths, punks and similar subcultures have been counterculture from the start, which means generally speaking people in those subcultures reject traditional (conservative) values and authority.

I like shades of gray with my storytelling. So when Supes tried to list off his “punk” bonafides I laughed because I’ve been an alt girly since my late teens. But as I finished out the movie I was reminded of something I’ve heard many times beforehand.

Went to see Superman over the weekend. It’s absolutely phenomenal and this is coming from someone who has a lukewarm reaction to Supes at best. I think the reason it resonates with me so much is because Superman is *the* Boy Scout trope and that just doesn’t appeal to me.
