The moment Starmer affirmed his 'full confidence' in Mandelson, it was clear he'd be gone within a couple of days. Good riddance. Amazing how many jobs you can still get in politics after you've been sacked multiple times.

And there'll be vague mutterings from a few MPs and then nothing. I'm at the point where I think I'd be better off spending my time off-grid chopping wood, rather than shouting at the telly and the Internet.

Well ... imagine my surprise.

Labour has lost the plot. Wrong on immigration; wrong on benefits; wrong on Gaza; wrong on US relations; wrong on Brexit ... the list goes on.

Should Farage's limited company ever win an election, how long before his bullshitting gets him kicked out? And, given that he's their self-appointed leader, how will that work? Will they just create ever more 'authentic' right wing splinter groups until we're all goose-stepping in formation?

I've worked at both ends of the spectrum, and there are plenty of good and bad people at every point in between. Address the person, not the job title.

I've got nothing against flying flags per se, but this current fad is more about foreigner-hating nationalism than patriotism. It's like dogs pissing on lampposts marking their territory. A bit sad really, but if it makes you feel clever, knock yourselves out.

This is difficult. I so wanted a Labour government to rid us of the appalling Tories, but, frankly, I've ended up disagreeing with pretty much everything Starmer stands for. The last thing I want is a split letting in Farage, but there is a limit to what I'm prepared to vote for.
