Bikes and public transit make it all better. And beer.

Trump says heโ€™s going to redo the air traffic control system . . . I am pretty sure I will never fly again if that happens.

Imagine thinking about Trump 1 and acting like he wasnโ€™t the president for the entirety of 2020 - maybe one of the worst years in U.S. history - made far worse by Trumpโ€™s incompetence.

Mad Elf ale and Kielbasa is my evening.

Mad Elf ale and Kielbasa is my evening.

Mad Elf is making the stupid shutdown less top of mind.

Itโ€™s how it works sometimes.

Notwithstanding the BS of Tapper, I think itโ€™s clear that Biden was not up to the campaign.

Likely Biden wouldโ€™ve lost also by a close margin. Musk spent his money finding the idiots in PA, WI and MI.

Itโ€™s sad for me because no president ever did more for me.

Lots of snippy people here today.

Maybe - itโ€™s also likely separating would have cost her votes elsewhere.

I think Gaza policy is a major factor in why many people stayed home. They didnโ€™t vote for the monster, but were ambivalent about supporting Harris in states like NY, CA and MA. They cld protest non-vote and sheโ€™d still win.

It wouldโ€™ve happened if Biden had run too.

Harris ran a good campaign. One big mistake was not separating from Biden on Gaza. Itโ€™s likely why she lost the popular vote with people just sitting out.

Harris likely lost the electoral college election on Musk money locating idiots in MI, PA and WI.

True - but he should never have looked for a second term. His age and infirmity was a problem.

Without the celebrity Monster the Republicans have nobody else. Itโ€™s going to be a cold day for Republicans when heโ€™s gone, and that alone might motivate them to play stupid about the two terms limit. But it also condemns them to running with a person who most people despise.

A Trump campaign in 2028 would likely damage the Republicans as itโ€™s clear he has reminded people how much they hated him in 2020.

(Trump had no coattails in 2024.)

The orange monster is THE celebrity politician. Heโ€™s vital for Republican success, but also an anchor that will drag them down.

I want Musk in Gitmo writing a $200,000 personal check to every Federal employee with the memo line (handwritten) saying โ€œElon Musk is an idiot.โ€

No leaving Gitmo until every check is written and cashed.

Now for Thiel and the other fascist billionaires . . . plain financial ruin, n Gitmo trials.

Also - despite it being oddly fun to ride in snow. I wonโ€™t ride on snow and icy conditions days as I had the fastest riding-to-smashed on the ground Iโ€™ve ever experience. And a sore should for almost a year.

The snow just makes it too hard to see a problem under it. And ice is ice - always bad.

Mittens (not just fingered gloves), good boots, and scarves make all the difference.

Head covering of some sort is important, but people know that. Keeping your hands, feet and face warm though seems to be less obvious for some people.

Warm extremities make all the difference in enjoyment.

Where is the SNL skit with a group of people watching Raiders of the Lost Ark and each person being asked occasionally to identify the obvious bad guy in the scene? And failing.

And the โ€œemergencyโ€ declaration will fail. People are incredibly sick of him. The military leadership hates him.

At some point Republicans are going to dope out that a Donald Trump candidacy in 2028 will doom the party. Nobody can run against him because itโ€™s a cult. If Donald runs the cult will fall in line.

My guess is that he doesnโ€™t run, but declares an โ€œemergencyโ€ that requires him to stay in power.

Itโ€™s not so easy to go backwards once the route has been decided.

Truly President Obama spent too long trying to accommodate the Republicans. It was a mistake, but lots of Dems are (or were) pro accommodation.

28.10.2025 15:42 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

All good points, but you forget getting the ACA at all was huge.

28.10.2025 15:40 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The habit is to try to return to normal. It doesnโ€™t work.

Let the destruction of the White House be the symbol. A future Dem has to be ruthless. Normal is gone.

28.10.2025 14:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Obama had two huge laws enacted: the ACA and the financial system overhaul. And that was with zero Republicans helping.

Yep.

Iโ€™m beginning to see what may be a chance for deep positive change. I expect another Trump disaster - likely a deep economic downturn when the AI bubble pops - maybe that will be an opportunity to turn the U.S. into a modern democracy with a fully updated constitution.

Itโ€™s a dream at least.
