As I said a few days ago: ALWAYS substitute “Google’s autocomplete function” for “ChatGPT”, and if your thought sounds silly, it probably is.

We’re really fortunate to have a weekly space to talk urban issues with people who love Austin, are tireless learners, and have never met a stranger. Good vibes every Friday to anchor the week.
And y’all are welcome to join any time too!
Same here!

Today in Waymos > human drivers:
1️⃣ For the 1st time, a car yielded to bikes (they’re supposed to) from the right turn lane.
2️⃣ A bike lane looks like it turns into a right turn lane, leading a Waymo into it. Before it finished changing, though, it saw me coming & adjusted into the correct lane.
The funny thing about how European countries and the US are responding to protestors for Palestine is that it shows we don’t just need to free Gaza, we need to free ourselves as well

This driver found the one small stretch of the 3rd St bikeway that no longer has barriers (thanks to The Republic being built) 🔪🔪🔪
10.08.2025 00:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0@zoforaustin.bsky.social @paige-ellis.bsky.social can we PLEASE do something about this? Waiting for light rail to redo the street (10 years) is not viable for S Congress, and won’t do anything to fix Congress north of the river.

Music Lane has been a problem since it opened. Cars park in the FIRE LANE so long as it’s also a bike lane.
The commercial vehicle is occupying the lane DESPITE PARKING RIGHT NEXT TO IT! And the guy wheeled around and shouted at me for reporting it!!!

Bruh sometimes I am so tired of this city. SIX cars parked in the Congress bike lane between Music Lane and 6th.
I have submitted so many 311 requests for enforcement & asked for re-installing barriers where this batch is. (And was told a vendor request was submitted. No visible progress.)
The correct news headline for this is not "Trump to Lay Out His Plan for Reducing Crime in Nation’s Capital" (Bloomberg) or "Trump to speak at White House on violent crime in D.C." (CNBC), but rather "President Lies About Crime in DC."

I don't think people realize that so much of advocacy + organizing is just asking people to do simple things. People are ready and willing!

Feels really grounding and cinematic IMO.
Being in the room and speaking to eliminate parking minimums was something else.
Congrats to Denver City council for repealing parking minimums! #copolitics
The fact that they are reinstalling it means this whole confederate statues thing remains salient, motivating to their base.
The public isn't campaigning for this; they could have let this go. Instead, they are actively reintroducing monuments to foment racial tension.
Racism gets them votes.
I don't think we talked enough about the fact that the big ugly bill almost banned states from regulating AI for 10 years
Like, that means there's some insidious AI lobbying shit happening in the Capitol that we are not even hearing about
