20.11.2023 11:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In breaking news, we're just hearing that an extremist faction of artists who prefer the medium of watercolours - Just Stop Oils - have damaged a Shell petrol station.

04.11.2023 13:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Test for waterproof inks on general purpose paper from Clairefountaine. Write & Draw as well as Sketch Inks Lotte and Lilly don't work with alcohol based markers. Noodler's black does not work with anything.
< These are the results on general purpose paper from Clairefountaine. The results are similar to the thinner marker-paper from Canson.
I used a dip pen instead of fountain pen.
I tested Carbon Ink, Write & Draw and Noodler's in fountain pens.
Tests with different waterproof inks for fountain pen with different kinds of markers (alcohol and water based). Here on Canson XL Marker Layout-Marker-Paper. Write & Draw Inks from Octopus don't work with alkohol based Copic Ciao, but are good with water soluble EcoLine BrushPen and Winsor & Newton Water Color Marker. The same goes with general purpose paper from Clairefountain (other test picture). dto for Sketch Ink Lotte and Lilly from Rohre & KLinger. Noodler's Black does not work with any markers.
Well, here are the tests with general purpose paper and layout marker paper. I don't use markers, so I don't know if the quality of the marker paper is adequate.
Tested: Copic Ciao C-1 (alcohol-based), Ecoline BrushPen #580 and Winsor & Newton Water Color Marker (both water-soluble).

There used to be bargain bins full of VHS tapes of cartoons sold at grocery stores. I learned, as an adult, that I watched a lot of dubs of old Soviet animated movies from these bins as a kid, and they were gorgeous, particularly ones by Lev Atamanov. A lot of them are on YouTube!

04.11.2023 09:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I love small Independent physical bookstores very much, but i am disabled and dont have the energy to try a few to see if they have the books i want, so i end up ordering way more often than i would like
04.11.2023 09:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I buy my books only from Europe, cause the import taxes are so high otherwise. Brexit significantly decreased the amount of books i buy , cause there is a lot less English language material available without import taxes.
04.11.2023 09:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I do like to buy all the non fiction books from authors i am friends with or acquainted with (i am an academic) to support them, as long as the prices are reasonable.
04.11.2023 09:17 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I dont really buy books based on reviews in newspapers or book influencers, cause serious book people tend to like a lot heavier darker books than i tend to enjoy, and i dont trust influencers to be impartial
04.11.2023 09:16 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I mostly buy books based on recommendations from friends or people on the internet who happen to describe it in a way that catches my interests (for example someone yesterday talked about "bureaucracy hopepunk" and that was so creative i now want to buy the book
