Anyone got a Saturday ticket to Dublin Comic Con that they need rehomed?
My 13yo niece would be forever grateful.

Beaking news.
No, wait... Breaking Coos
Sorry
It's a vote of confidence in the pilot, surely.
Though there's nothing like a big old helmet head lolling around to really unbalance the bike, eh?
Could always tell he was nodding off without looking around.
Don Draper only gutted he didn't think of that one.
27.07.2025 19:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I suppose if you're in constant legal battles over paying for your own ostentatious house, a free gaff in the Phoenix Park seems like a good solution.
19.07.2025 14:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Another vote for the Ortliebs from me. Hardy workhorses and the insert for taking a laptop was a game-changer on my commute.

This is bugging me now. Will have to ask the 90s Rathmines crew who spent a lot of time in there.
06.07.2025 10:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I seem to remember a dark grey polo shirt with yellow trim on the collar and logo on left on chest....
Very possible I'm just imagining that though.
So it makes sense, I suppose, that when the golden calf gets a little ding, we persecute the heathen instead of wondering why said icon was left on the pavement in the first place.
In conclusion, and without legal parlance, this sucks. Also, f**k cars.
On a daily basis, I see oblivious, selfish actions by drivers. It's only by chance that the potential damage they can do - and not just to property, to lives - is avoided.
Meanwhile, we pledge fealty and deference to the thing that makes the urban landscape ugly, noisy and dangerous.
So if she *did* snap, and if she *did* accidentally-on-purpose hold her keys by the handlebars and exact some revenge on the two-tonne barrier, then it's hardly surprising.
I mean, how many times can you turn the other cheek
In the backstory I imagined for this, that woman had likely struggled to get her small, practical, zero-emissions transport through that selfishly-small gap 100 times before.
I can imagine this because I, and I bet you as well, have encountered this mercenary behaviour on countless occasions.
The car - the thing that is our refuge, our baby, our status symbol and our identity all at once.
20.06.2025 11:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0In my work, I see courts stories all the time. And a huge number of those tales about assaults, robberies, sex crimes etc end with suspended sentences or piddlingly-small fines.
What's so heinous about this that warrants a custodial sentence?
Oh right, it's the car.
And, if the buggy or wheelchair has caused such a grievous wound to the metal box, would the operators of those also be banged up for four weeks?
20.06.2025 11:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Now I'm no legal eagle, but I do have some further questions, your honour.
Like, what sort of *legal* parking arrangement leaves no space to access a building?
Also, if the gap was too tight for bicycle handlebars, how is a child's buggy or a wheelchair going to fit through it either?
A month.
For some paintwork
Distraught car owner claims woman used keys to damage precious vehicle. Accused denies this, says she was trying to squeeze bicycle through tight space between two parked cars.
Judge, outraged that an object so holy could be desecrated, says actions are "despicable" and jails woman for 28 days.
This being a story of such gravitas, it is behind the paywall. So I'll give you a potted summary:
Woman is accused of scratching her neighbour's car, causing โฌ2k+ of damage, as she tried to enter her home while wheeling her bicycle.
If ever you wondered who and what society (and our justice system) values above all else, then this is the story for you.
*Spoiler: It's drivers, and cars, of course #bikesky

I'm working on a piece about arts funding in Ireland, and I'm looking for people's experiences in dealing with various funding bodies. Let me know your thoughts (good or bad), bugbears, frustrations, and any weird quirks in the application processes that you think don't make sense. ๐ DM or reply. โ

I do *not*, however, love that Rad Power Bikes refuse to ship a much-needed part to Ireland.

Excellent. Let me know a price and shipping cost to Ireland please.
Will be delighted to have it in our home.
Okay, I've been thinking about this image for days now.
I think I need to buy a print of it to inspire the kiddos.
Is that something you do, Ian?
Has the misfortune to hear that. And rolled my eyes so hard that I think I've done myself an injury.
09.05.2025 09:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0An old tandem bicycle with what seems to be a metal sidecar attached. Yes please!
Cannot wait to explain to my wife why I *had* to bid on this!

Good to hear actions are being taken. Fair play.
Forgive my snark; seems I default to cynicism on Ireland's version of cycling 'infrastructure' these days.
