Pressure fighters are some of my favorite stylists. They have given us some of the finest displays of cage control and sophisticated violence in MMA history. This article deals the intricacies of that style in detail, why it's surprisingly rare, etc.

The Tate mechanic in Shinobi is satisfying to pull off as it pushes you to be aggressive. It also means the boss design is gonna be a bit frustrating, b/c of arena gimmicks and models. It's disappointing because I'm -so- close to having fun.

This isn't how I expected my day to start. Around 2 years ago, we lost my childhood dog, Clyde. Last night, the other one, Bonnie, passed away. I don't know if I'm to ever have another dog who became excitable just from hearing laughter. Thank you for so much & more.

It's fights like those that tell me why I watch Mixed Martial Arts. It was bittersweet, it was intense, it was emotional, and an epic beyond what I expected. That's how a career like Dustin Poirier's should have ended, going out tooth-and-nail against one of the best.

I'm Grateful for Dustin Poirier
Dustin Poirier returned to his corner, cut along his temple, after a thrilling third.
I debated whether I wanted to save this before or after tonight, so I did a coinflip and it's where we are now. Anyways, Dustin Poirier's last one is now and he's a special one.

In Memoriam of 2019's Best Fight: The Key Dynamic of Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirier
A short explanatory study of why the meeting between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier at UFC 236 was particularly chaotic.
Wasn't going to find time to write about one of my favorite fights, I told myself. Obviously, I'm a liar. Anyways, Holloway-Poirier II was unbelievable. I don't have time to give it all I have, but I had a bit.

I feel it's an inherent mistake to see cynicism as an approach to being more analytically thorough. While it's not wrong to not view things through some of those lenses, you have to be careful because, at some point, you're just limiting what you can enjoy and lose perspectivism.

many have asked why they just won't release Bloodborne on PC but they're just discounting the blood pact fromsoft made to incorporate the most hitstun into one of their games in that series, can't make that too accessible nowadays!

Playing through RGG's catalogue of titles has been a treat and the finales are typically the absolute highlight.

I cannot believe what I just experienced. LAD Gaiden's final boss might be the best boss fight RGG has ever made.

LAD Gaiden continuing the series' tradition of doing some the coolest shit I've experienced in any video game and then including the most confusing single enemy design quirk ever.

The way Kenshiro Teraji is able to generate so much power with the way he can retract and re-fire his right is actually ridiculous. It's why he can catch so many off guard, but to do that and still crack is not normal.

It's a shame that this game has become a centerpiece in the ongoing failed discourse for people to appreciate what RPGs bring to the table, when I personally feel, regardless of the flaws and hyperbole on two different extremes, this game was made by people driven by passion. I can't hate that.

I just completed the final superboss and this issue permeates until the end. That's unfortunate. I should iterate that I like the game still; it has heart for days in spite of me not believing it to be the all-time great it's billed as. I appreciate the good quite a bit.

Yes, there's delays in attacks, strict punishments for failing, and several gimmicks involved in other ways, but so much defensive stratagem becomes unnecessary once you memorize the timing. It's without question the greatest flaw.

Saw someone say they'd like to see the real time parry/dodge mechanics of Expedition 33 added to more rpgs. I'm not against adding real-time to turn-based games. but there needs to be counterbalances. I like Clair Obscur as a game, yet there's no doubt in my mind that this wasn't balanced.

Normally, throwing this many consecutive hooks can be dangerous. Miguel 'Happy' Lora makes it work here using the weight transfer in his hips to throw the hook to keep himself moving to the left - which turns Vazquez and forces him to cover up.
