EU's pledge for $250 billion of US energy imports is delusional There are strong echoes of Donald Trump's failed trade deal with China from his first term as U.S. president in the framework agreement reached with the European Union.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets today in NYC.

After marching, we surrounded 26 Federal Plaza—the building where ICE is kidnapping people and tearing families apart.

We sat in solidarity with those taken, and left flowers for those lost.

It’s outrageous the complete disregard ICE shows for our communities. Trespassing and urinating on school property is unacceptable under any circumstances, but doing so when children may be present is absolutely indefensible.

How different the past years might’ve been if @maya4rights.bsky.social was our Mayor. No corruption, pettiness and collaboration with the Trump regime. Just principled, progressive leadership focused on results.

I was so honored to receive Maya’s #1 rank endorsement this morning in Harlem.

Is the planet losing one of its best ways to slow climate change? The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere rose last year at the fastest rate on record. The spike has scientists worried that more and more carbon is coming from natural sources.

The proportion of CO2 in the atmosphere grew at a record 3.75 ppm last year -- a jump 27% bigger than the previous record increase.

The best explanation: forests and soils are so stressed by climate change they're losing the ability to absorb our emissions.

The shocking far-right agenda behind the surveillance tech used by ICE and the FBI Clearview AI’s founders always intended to target immigrants and the political left. Now their digital dragnet is in the hands of the Trump administration.

We're now witnessing these same tools, which previously targeted foreigners, being used onto a larger population that includes U.S. citizens. "Criminals" will go down first but the plan is to reach everyone. Democracy and civil rights won't be the same after this. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Why Obama Has Failed to Close Guantánamo Congress is blamed for preventing the President from fulfilling his pledge. But that’s not the whole story.

Obama both expanded and put timid limits on the abuses of the Bush administration, creating the perfect setting for Trump's first term. And the structure used to operationalize the war on terror abroad was slowly implemented to "manage" undocumented immigrants here. www.newyorker.com/magazine/201...

The creation of the Department of Homeland Security in 2002 brought several agencies responsible for immigration, intelligence-gathering, disaster management, and the Coast Guard, to name a few, under a single umbrella. The result was a nation state under "continuous" threat.
