Reeves states she is introducing the high value council tax surcharge in England, an annual Β£2,500 charge for properties worth more than Β£2m, rising to Β£7,500 for properties worth more than Β£5m.
Taxing wealth!

Congratulations to @lucympowell.bsky.social, Labour's new deputy leader.
This sends a clear signal that Labour members want to see a change of direction.
We can't out-Reform Reform. We can be more Labour.
Nigel Farage doesnβt think the Prime Minister should have free speech in this country. But heβll tell foreigners that yours is somehow under threat from the Prime Minister. Heβs a whiny little liar. Always has been. Always will be.

I possibly shouldn't have laughed. But I laughed very hard.

Is Lucy Powell MP doing any campaigning? Itβs like the wheels of power are only trying to highlight Starmerβs pick for DLβ¦

16.09.2025 15:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The choice for Labour Deputy Leader is extremely weak! Two (imo) fairly uncharismatic people who wonβt have the cut through Labour desperately needs.
Iβll vote Powell simply to hold Starmer accountable. No point voting for a Starmer loyalist if you want Labour to refocus on its core principles.
Iβm a life long Labour supporter and voter. But the sheer incompetence of Lambeth Labour means Iβm looking at voting @lambethlibdems.bsky.social in May 2026
