Fossil fuels must be phased out as early as by 2029, with "limited to no opportunity for new investments in fossil fuel systems"

Our tax system "supports use of fossil fuels through environmentally harmful subsidies ... This is inconsistent with Irelandโ€™s climate objectives"

"The scale of the task would be striking: depending on the pathway chosen, it could require diverting an area of land greater than the size of Co Tipperary for growing fuels and offsetting, or new electricity demand equivalent to more than current electricity usage."

Read our open letter to the Taoiseach and Climate Minister, arguing that there is no legal or scientific justification for delaying Ireland's Climate Action Plan. It's urgently needed to close the carbon budget delivery gap this decade, and further delays will increase overall costs.

Itโ€™s 2028 and all pedestrians are mandated by law to wear hi vis clothes at all times. Black north face jackets are illegal. Black mascara has been outlawed and replaced with neon. Drivers are still watching tiktok and saying didnโ€™t see you there pal.

What a wildly stupid idea.

Mandatory helmets and high viz is a proven remedy to reduce the number of people cycling. It effectively kills off things like Dublin Bikes.

That's why no other EU country does anything like this. Pure madness.

Sadhbh O'Neill: Should Ireland introduce a legal 'duty of care' for rainwater? In the Netherlands and Germany, nature-based solutions are the first step in flood prevention. In Ireland, theyโ€™re the last

We should stop paving over all the places that floodwaters need to go! It's obvious to the test of Europe, but not us.
