Not to say we aren’t seeing red. We are seeing a bit and our brains are enhancing that, out of efficiency. But this also lends to the discussion of what is “real”versus what is perception, particularly with regards to the senses.

Our brains have evolved to really maximize what we see and fill in the blanks when necessary. We do have some cones, but rods are more effective at sensing movement, so a concentration of rods at the periphery will aid gene transmission. But if red should be there, our brains will tell us it is.

There are still some cones on the periphery of our retinas and our brains are very effective at filling in what we think should be there. Most people perceive their peripheral vision as colored rather than black and white.

So true! Hadn’t really thought it out before, but yeah, single story carousels have always been a disappointment.

🖤 Genuinely intelligent and thoughtful people. Simon with the kid with the hot water injury was so gentle and earnest. And their debate over the guy with the diary was funny and insightful. Dr Drew deriding Cure obsessives then ending the show exclaiming he wants to meet Robert and shake his hand! 😂

There are a number of companies that can do this. I’ve made some Cure coffee mugs in the past through vistaprint and use them at work to start my workday off in a pleasant way. You’re right this would make an excellent puzzle. You’ve inspired me!
