Can you make sure the Poul Nyrup films have the correct aspect ratios? I have the Danish set and two of the films (Villa Vennely and Stenbroens helte) are stretched. Seems like a flagging issue on the discs. Villa Vennely's subs also cut off before the film ends.

All my local Chinese friends hated this (although they watched the Mandarin dub), but I'm excited. I also just like listening to people speak Shanghainese. I watched a few episodes without subs and you can tell it's a giant mess.

Have you watched it? Somehow looks worse than the old New Yorker DVD. Has some weird upscaling artifacts on top of the framerate conversion stuttering going from its native 25fps to 60hz. Very hard to watch. I'd recommend people pirate the long OOP Artificial Eye disc.

I think a lot of this traces back more towards stuff like gnostic bible reading groups and the culty guided meditation sessions that would happen at hippy bookstores. Numerology, Kabalah, sacred geometry, etc. A lot of those people fell hard into right wing conspiracy and cryptocurrency stuff.
