What do you mean "It was dangerous", Professor? That the mobile signal may somehow interfere with the self-driving AI of the vehicle?

Former first minister Vaughan Gething blocked from voting from car Vaughan Gething was stopped from taking part in a Senedd vote on Wednesday because he was in a car.

I suspect that, in a hundred years, "Members cannot vote whilst on a vehicle" is going to be one of those archaic parliamentary rules that political scientists introduce to amusing students in parliamentary study modules

2026 World Cup: Fifa likely to schedule matches featuring European nations after midnight UK time Fifa are likely to schedule World Cup matches involving major European nations after midnight UK time next year in an effort to combat heat issues that affected the recent Club World Cup.

Growing up in Hong Kong, waking up in the middle of the night to watch the world cup is kinda normal

Our research makes it clear: by capitulating to the right, Labour is driving voters to Reform UK | Tarik Abou-Chadi and Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte Mimicking Farage on immigration is senseless. Labour voters feel betrayed; anti-immigration voters see through the ruse, say academics Tarik Abou-Chadi and Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte

For the Guardian, @turnbulldugarte.com and I discuss our research that clearly shows one thing: Labour's anti-immigration strategy will only strengthen Reform and weaken its own electoral prospects. It won't win voters back but ultimately normalizes the far right

Permanent residency for Hongkongers may be worth Β£4bn to UK economy, says thinktank Analysis finds value of moved pensions savings could raise similar revenue by 2029 as a year’s air passenger duty

β€œThere is not only a strong moral case for the UK to keep its word to those who are already in the UK under various visa schemes awaiting permanent residency, but in the case of Hongkongers, a significant economic rationale as well.”

Just out at JOP (www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/epdf/10....) : Why do so few working-class people hold office? It's not lack of interest. Noam Lupu and I ran 10 surveys in 8 countries and found no evidence of a social class gap in how often qualified people consider running.

Either way, I fear this has huge implication on research of parliamentary speech forward. Could we still infer speeches is reflective of what ever qualities of MPs we are interested in if they are/might be AI generated?

Not that I doubt the impact of AI on MPs speeches, but some of the examples here seem to show a)Gradual increasing trend on either side of the treatment, and b)Delayed explosive growth post-treatment. Could some of these be partly explained by high turnover from GE24?

The Hong Kong Legislative Council has just rejected the second reading of the same-sex partnership registration bill proposed by the govt.

This is a rare occurrence of a govt defeat in LEGCO, especially since the purging of any meaningful opposition in the chamber after the 2021 electoral "reform".

05.09.2025 16:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's more than that, from what I understand, it appears that "Threshold" is in fact the number of votes won by the party that got the last seat in a district. Wouldn't this mean that there must be at least one party in each district that won exactly the same number of vote as the "Threshold"?
