Worth checking out the whole special edition of Parliamentary Affairs on the #votesat16 debate in the UK, co-edited by @jontonge.bsky.social, Thomas Loughran and Andy Mycock:

Yesterday's news about #votesat16 seems as good a reason as any to shamelessly plug an old article by Raynee Gutting and myself.
We tested the effect on public support of framing votes at 16 as a right or a change, with interesting results:

"Don’t rule yourself out. It’s daunting to put yourself out there, but that’s exactly why taking risks is essential for young students trying to find their feet in this world." 💡
Read Mayoral Intern Annie Ferguson's blog on her placement with @mayorofgm.bsky.social last summer 👇
The blogs cover polarisation(s), comedy and politics, post-truth, Gen Z and the far-right, the urban-rural divide in France, incels as political behaviour, promoting political participation, and online and offline mobilisation. That's a pretty good selection!

blogs.ed.ac.uk/political_be...
There's some excellent stuff on a range of topics (see below). Well worth a read, in my opinion!
I'm finally here on Bluesky, but am still on 'the other place' too: x.com/niceonecombo
Get in touch if you want to talk #UKYouthPoll, young people's politics, polling, political participation, or survey research.
Can't wait to teach students the practicalities of polling, and work with them to highlight young people's views of UK politics!
