Here is a different shot of the #Moon from last night, with different framing. I added the yellow circle, myself, to illustrate how big the Moon _looked_, due to the Moon Illusion.

My best shot of the Super Hunter's Harvest Moon from last night. I think this might be the best pic of the Moon my phone camera has ever taken, and yet, it's still not great. π

Comic. [Two people on shore looking at body of water] PERSON 1: Hey, whereβs that big island we were looking at this morning? PERSON 2 with short hair: Oh, itβs underwater. The oceanβs depth here goes up and down by like ten feet every day. PERSON 1: What? PERSON 2: Itβs because the planet has a big moon orbiting near the surface. It causes weird gravity effects. PERSON 1: *What???* [caption] People here are used to them, but tides are one of the weirdest and most sci-fi elements of life on Earth.

Although the Perseids don't reach their peak until Aug 12, with the timing of the Moon's phases, the end of July, when the delta Aquariids peak, might be the best time to catch these crisscrossing meteors.

NASA is more than rockets and moonwalks. NASA is behind much of our everyday technology. From space discovery, to Air Jordans, to CAT scans, NASA has played a role. We get it all on less than a penny of every federal dollar. Now their science may be gutted by 50%.
