A simple bowling game with a golf-like power/accuracy mechnic, but the physics seem a bit off.

SD Gundam Dimension War
A turn based tactical RPG. Which would have meant long sessions with your head in the Virtual Boy. It has some interesting action sequences for battles, but not much strategy.

Waterworld
Difficult to see what's going on and just a really bad version of a simple "kill everything on screen" arcade game. The worst the console has to offer.

Virtual Boy Wario Land
Not just a great Virtual Boy, but a great 2D platformer full stop. Movement feels great and there's a ton to discover.

Innsmouth Mansion
An interesting horror maze game based on the works of HP Lovecraft.

Virtual Fishing
A fishing game does not suit red and black. The mechanics are also very simple, it feels more like a minigame from a bigger game.

Space Squash
A fun 3D squash that makes good use of the stereoscopic 3D. There are lots of different arenas, but the game could have done with a save or password system.

Jack Bros.
The first Shin Megami Tensei to release in America. It's an action packed maze game where you have a short amount of time to complete each sectrion, and getting hit recudes this time. Difficult but fun.

Mario Clash
A sequel to the original Mario Bros where you have to attack enemies on different parts of the screen. Lots of fun, and gets very difficult.

V-Tetris
It's Tetris on the Virtual Boy. It doesn't have the visual flair of Panic Bomber but it does have a unique "loop" mode.

Vertical Force
A vertical scrolling shoot-'em-up where you swap between upper and lower planes. It's fun and looks absolutely spectacular in 3D.

Virtual League Baseball
Despite some infinitely tiny sprites, the 3D effect actually makes them look clear. A simple, but somewhat enjoyable, baseball game.

Golf
A golf game with decent mechanics, but is visually a complete and utter mess.

Teleroboxer
A Punch Out-style game with robots. Makes great use of the twin D-pads and the 3D is fantastic.

Red Alarm
Impossible to tell what's goin on using a regular screen, but absolutely fine with stereoscopic 3D. An enjoyabl, but difficult, space shooter.

Panic Bomber
Surprisingly a really good use of the spectroscopic 3D, everything looks ultra crisp with disctinc layers. A fun puzzle game, too.

Galactic Pinball
A fun pinball game with some neat bonus stages, like using Samus' ship to blast asteroids, but doesn't make good use of the Virtual Boy's features.

Marioโs Tennis
The pack-in title for the Virtual Boy, and it does a poor job with the stereoscopic 3D. When you do get used to the timing, it's a basic tennis game with no multiplayer, as the link cable wasn't ready.

Over the next month, I will be taking look at evey Virtual Boy game, plus a couple of bonus ones. These are all played on the Nintendo 3DS, which is a great way of playing these games.

The Red Viper emulator on 3DS is a wonderful way to play Virtual Boy games even better than the original hardware.
Games look immensely crisp due to the 3D and it's hard to show just how nice some of them are.
A photo of Virtual Boy Wario Land running on a 3DS, with ghosting from the display showing a 3D image.
I'm considering doing a short little run of all games on a console.
