Isn’t he asking people to trust him? That would mean advocating trusting people who don’t know what they are talking about as opposed to people who do? I find it all very confusing.

This is rubbish. ANYONE with eyes can see that this is what he’s doing. Call it out for what it is and stop hedging your bets. A once great newspaper is afraid of the truth.

There is real fear amongst govt pols to discuss neutrality and our place in Europe. It’s an important national conversation but our ‘leaders’ avoid it like the plague. Their actions seem to be inching in the right direction, but they won’t talk about it. A calm and rational debate is overdue.

Good article and we do need a debate around neutrality. We have bound ourselves to Europe meaning we are in a partnership. If this is a serious partnership then we cannot use the accident of geography to say ‘I’m alright Jack’ and ignore a threat. We need to fully play our part in European security.

It’s a disgrace that European governments haven’t given you what you need to to now, but I sense (and hope) that this is changing. You are on the front foot and Russia is starting to suffer. Ukraine will win and your future will be better.

Exactly this. A new generation has been radicalised meaning we have another 40 to 50 years before healing can begin - even if there was a genuine willingness on the part of Israel, which there isn’t. And Trump just wants a deal so he can start grifting on the beachfront in Gaza. This won’t end well.

Imagine there are people out there who believe his bullshit. Your education system needs to be overhauled.

The answer is simple. Social media companies should be deemed publishers responsible for what they publish.
