A golden retriever is ideal, but any will do. • Tell your loved ones a cheesy dad joke and laugh about it. • Bake something — bread for Mark or a cake for Melissa, and share it with someone. • Try a new hobby and enjoy learning something. • Stand up for what you believe in, especially if that thing is justice and peace. "Hope and resilience are the enemy of fear. Our parents lived their lives with immense dedication to their fellow humans. This tragedy must become a moment for us to come together. The Republican on our local news managing to both sides this made me think of you.

Rep. Melissa Hortman killed, Sen. John Hoffman shot in 'targeted' shootings: Sources Two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot by someone impersonating a police officer, sources confirmed to FOX 9. Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were killed.

Two important things to note:

1) the most significant violence we’ve seen this year was not against ICE or Trump or members of his administration, but against Democrats

2) when ICE scoffs at people asking for warrants or for identification, THIS IS WHY THEY ASK

Hortman's home after a lawmaker who lived nearby was shot and found a "police vehicle in the driveway with emergency lights and what appeared to be a police officer at the door coming out of the house." He was actually the gunman.

At the ICE raid and subsequent community resistance in Paramount, California this morning, this skater kid ate dozens of munitions from Border Patrol agents, walked away slowly and flipped them off.

"Now is the time of monsters" is the quote this quilt's patchwork created in red and white on a crazy quilt background in shades of grey.

I started this quilt when we learned about the Trump admin rendering men to a death camp in El Salvador without due process. It's meant to evoke the chaos and disjointed nature of this admin.

This is the quilt hanging at Art A Whirl in Minneapolis last weekend.

If only ten year old me knew what she was missing.
