I dedicated years of my life to reporting on January 6 and exposing what happened. I was there that day, co-wrote a book, and published a series of major stories on my own, for Rolling Stone, and for TPM.

I hope it mattered. I hope history will remember and understand what happened.

So I would think that an anoxic layer is why it stopped burning up top. Hot gasses rise, no oxygen, no ignition. Probably just cooked the creosotes out and when the fire burned out the surface fuel it was just left. Iโ€™ve seen it happen to tops of pines after wildfire.

Thereโ€™s no good 300 character answer. Iโ€™ve helped multiple people relocate to my area of the midwest, mostly fleeing southern states. Itโ€™s not a perfect solution but at least we should have water and power with the stateโ€™s nuclear fleet.

Iโ€™ve been showing up to library board because our tiny town is flirting with loss of state funding and 2-3 jobs because they wonโ€™t adopt the code that refuses book bans. We have one of those elderly Nazis who complains about web filters on the library workstations everyโ€ฆ freakingโ€ฆ meeting.

chart showing a reduction in TB deaths since 1980--from 1.8 million per year to just under 1.3 million per year.

chart showing a reduction in TB deaths since 1980--from 1.8 million per year to just under 1.3 million per year.

When I was a kid, around 1,800,000 people died every year of tuberculosis. Now, around 1,250,000 do.

That's important progress. But at this current rate, it'll take a CENTURY to push TB deaths much below 500,000 per year. That's totally unacceptable for a curable, preventable disease.

Got my wife out the door for the first time in almost a month (we got COVID, then strep then we had her winter break). Feels weird to be here with just the dogs again.

Is me, CEO of all dachshunds. Your subscription is about to run out. Mail all the cheese in your house to under the couch then go in the other room and do something loud.

I checked out on Disco at a certain point. I just couldnโ€™t anymore between it and how depressing Picard was. It took Lower Decks to make me enjoy Trek again and Iโ€™ve been loving SNW

You see, ultra-processed foods are bad for your health and the complex modern food industry has found new and exciting ways to jam things into even simple ingredients. Shredded cheese? Dusted in starch and an anti fungal called nitomycin. Flour? Full of bleaches and sometimes human hair byproducts..

Iโ€™m in Minnesota! I always forget how much larger they make parking lots for snow removal up here.

Also, tater tots on top of pizza

My black and tan is currently behind me on the bed heaped in an unprincesslike pile, snoring like a freight train eating a bowl of jello.

I will never own another breed of dog

I have to watch for tornadoes, dorachos and high line winds in the central US, but at least our hail rarely gets above pea sized

Nancy Mace Calls Police on Prominent Foster Youth Advocate A former foster youth and award-winning advocate was arrested at the U.S. Capitol tonight after Rep. Nancy Mace accused him of assault.

This is absolutely disgusting. He simply shook her hand and dared to ask her to support trans kids and she called the police on him and claimed it was assault. I hope he gets his day in the wider press and in court.

I am going to keep saying this as many times as it takes: My uncle had polio and I have early childhood memories of him in the wheelchair. He passed from complications in 1985.

If we shy away from science and good laws on this one it will put children in a chair or on a respirator or a pine box.

Not only that but I have been to a fundraiser there.

That stretch of the Mississippi has some spectacular views on the Missouri side with the cliffs. They are better closer to Louisiana Missouri, there are a few public highwayside ones and the memorial for the Champ Clark bridge is beautiful.

Ahhhh. He didnโ€™t arrive on a harness under a helicopter a year ago wearing a hoodie did he? Cause thatโ€™s the last we saw of British Tom Scott

Thank you for the explanation. It always sucks when you find out someone is a sex pest. Feels like they let you down beyond the repulsiveness.

Them things are fuckin sky raccoons. The interstate bridge that connects the rural town I live in to the highway system was delayed a whole year because they nested on the columns during construction.

I had to use a drawbridge a whole extra year cause of them.

Even Mr. Rimmer can enjoy looking important behind the wheel.

Canโ€™t we keep her?

Recently it doesn't bother me, I might try it and decide based on how much I like it.

The one way to get me ANGRY ENOUGH TO DROP YOUR PODCAST FOR SOME AMOUNT OF TIME is to not very clearly LABEL THE EPISODE YOU ARE INSERTING CLEARLY IN THE TITLE. I'd get phone/ipod throwing mad when that wasn't so
