Was at that game sitting next to Yankee scouts who absolutely wanted to play the Dodgers rather than us. Amazing finish to game that for most of it felt like a game we were destined to lose. Classic J-Roll.

Spot on. This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. It ‘s relatable, and humanizes the issue in a way everyone can understand.

1st time I saw the Who James Gang (with Joe Walsh) opened. 2nd time the opener was Lynyrd Skynyrd. But maybe the best was when the opener for Yes was The Eagles. All were at the Spectrum in Philly.

I thought he might have closer stuff when he came up but boy he is hittable.

Mostly I’ve been disappointed so far with Kerkerring. Almost never seems to have a 123 inning. I thought he was gonna have more swing and miss stuff than he has. And hanging breaking balls are unforgivable for an 8th inning guy. #Phillies

Thanks for starting this. It reminded me of “old friends” I had forgotten, and introduced me to some new ones! On a side note, I’m working my way in countdown fashion through the NYT 100 best books since 2000. Reading things I otherwise never would have and enjoying the process.
