Blame the deliberate weaponising of social media algorithms, or populist rabble rousers and grifters who make a dishonest living out of stoking hate. But the truth is much sadder; cynical deployment of fascist tropes finds a keen, willing audience among far too many of our friends and families.

This is an excellent summary of where we are right now. It is profoundly disappointing how many people we know who are suckered by this narrative. Radicalised into a blanket hatred of the "other" and a retreat into jingoistic ethnonationalism.

I have a high IQ. I mean, freakishly high. It is a *very* blunt instrument for testing "intelligence". It only really looks at pattern recognition and speed of thought.

IMHO those who need IQ to prove that they are somebow superior tend to be extremely lacking in other parts of their psyche
