Just saw this but I kinda agree? I mean, it’s true the total travel time would be noticeably worse due to how long it takes to get from SPUD through the Midway area (assuming original route other than not beginning in Mpls) but the benefits of having all services at one (nice!) station are high.

Partly confirms my theory that ppl have not fully resumed their pre-2020 travel patterns, and that (as w/poor Twin Cities ridership recovery) they are even less likely than before to choose transit. Disheartening; not insurmountable. Hope MT can better retain & recruit LRT operators for 10 min freq.

This is important & is probably one factor of the many that’s tamping down Metro Transit’s (MN) ridership. Given that younger people are usually a large part of ridership, this hurts that much more.

That's fair, I don't expect to hear nothing, haha. It does seem (based on what I've seen about the subject from searching reddit and elsewhere) that if you're not a fan of a Yankees rival, an Astros fan, and maybe a couple others, that you're less likely to get drinks poured on your head, and so on!

I hope for your sake they didn't move TEN!! This is just shocking to me. In the case of the Twins owners (who you may know have been trying to sell the team) they only care about money and spending as little of theirs as possible!! Their DISinvestment after we won playoff games in '23 was so bad!

By the bye, I haven't been to my annual Twins game this year to keep up my streak. The good news is, since I don't live in MN, I don't have to support the Pohlads to do it. The Bad News? Schedule and location-wise, my current easiest bet is Twins @ Yankees.

The decision to disinvest after '23 was bad enough; I guess in retrospect it may have been the writing on the wall that the Pohlads were going to sell. Have to imagine they'd been talking about it for awhile & slowed their investment in team once they were pretty sure on their long-term direction.

I'll bet we'll see creative messages on signs that fans manage to sneak into ballparks, because this is an insult to generations of Twins fans across the upper Midwest. I've been to at least one game a year, not counting 2020, since I was 6, and this just hurts.

As far as I am aware (and I have been around newspapers and journalism in some way for most of my life) writers just don’t get to choose the headlines and it’s (always ?) been that way. It’s just not how it works! Can they suggest a headline? Sure! But editors do their own thing

(plastic bollards were just added at intersections to one of the separated lanes with the most issues but I am sadly skeptical they'll keep the motorists out)

Does anyone happen to know what material the divider bollards at intersections are? They look like standard plastic bollards, and I wonder if they keep drivers out of the lane. Mpls has built similar infra but there's not a constant stream of cyclists like the video; people keep driving in them.

Really? Enormous facepalm from me, someone who (though not currently living in St. Paul) would love to see progress on those issues.
