Right now there is no better investment that taxpayers can make than using our tax dollars to hand a defeat to Trump. He wants us to think he is invincible, and every case he loses undermines that notion and weakens him.

It is from a publication that has thrown away its credibility. That doesn't necessarily mean everything it publishes is false, but it does mean everything it publishes can't be trusted. When an outlet loses its credibility that undermines stories that are true as well.

Running centrist candidates in rural areas has resulted in nearly all of rural America going Republican. The one rural state Republicans lose big in is VT where Bernie Sanders leads.

I do not understand how Douthat actually gets paid for his opinions when nobody likes him. He allies himself with Trump far too often to be respected by anyone who is not hardcore MAGA, but he is not loyal enough for the MAGA base to like him. Nobody likes him, but he still gets paid.

I suspect a small handful of MAGA loyalists who agree to take wildly illegal actions on Trump's behalf will get big paydays, the rest of the soldiers will get nothing.

In some ways I think the NYT is worse than the My Pillow Guy's network. The NYT is able to fake credibility in a way the My Pillow Guy can't so their propaganda is far more effective, and that makes it far more dangerous.

If this was something they thought was needed then why weren't they advocating for it before Trump did it?
