A lot of education discourse is at root an inability to decide whether the purpose of our education system is to 1) teach material and measure learning 2) reward students who work hard 3) separate the smart kids (destined for smart guy jobs) from the dumb kids (destined to serve the smart guys)

yes, they are nazis.
cross-reference the demographic data of these female individuals with the records of the male individuals who have joined ICE and you'll have a detailed description of the way they became brutalizers.

I’ll put it more simply: my first (and best) aerobatic flight instructor looked me in the eye before our first lesson and said: β€œremember, airplanes really like the ground. They really really like the ground.”

The sky’s full of mystical dancing lights, from particles miles above us, excited by a burp from our local star. You’re allowed to be excited about cool shit, and this is especially cool shit

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Denmark eyes new law to protect citizens from AI deepfakes Deepfakes have become not only easier to make worldwide but also look or sound exponentially more realistic thanks to technological advances and the proliferation of generative artificial intelligence...

β€œA bill that’s expected to pass early next year would change copyright law by imposing a ban on the sharing of deepfakes to protect citizens’ personal characteristics β€” such as their appearance or voice β€” from being imitated and shared online without their consent”

what i miss most about being a chocolatier (besides the honor of gayest job title imaginable) is we had these massive bars of chocolate for tempering that were 10lbs and we had to break them into smaller

all the other people in production HATED busting them especially at the end of the shift but i fucking loved it. give me the hammer. i can be trusted with the hammer. And everyone did in fact trust me with the hammer because again they all thought it was tedious and painful. me? i was having the time of my life. even if i had to pick up the slack for other people i would be annoyed for all of five seconds before the euphoria of getting to smash things set in. and the production areas had windows too so customers often just got to watch me beat the shit out of a massive chocolate bar. with a hammer. like a zoo animal. i was getting paid to do that. every day i miss it.
