A show with this big of a budget should not have dialogue that feels like an average fanfiction. It's nauseatingly unsubtle and even the best actors in the cast are clearly struggling against characters repeatedly stating the fucking obvious.

Having finished TLOU season 2, I gotta say this has been a truly horrible season of TV. A generationally bad adaptation of a game i actually quite liked despite it's iffy politics and pacing issues. Just a colossal waste of time

My main review of the last of us season 2 is that the consequences Joss Whedon has had on tv & movie writing is awful. why do these characters constantly quip about EVERYTHING

for 4 years many of us were shouting from the rooftops warning about starmer + how easily he'd throw everything + anyone under the bus to get or keep power and for 4 years, people like otto english told us we were wrong, labour'd get more left in power, that we were just tory enablers etc etc...

Worth pointing out that a social media ban (if even possible) doesn't prevent young people from being pushed towards transphobia in the same way. Mainstream media, politicians and public opinion all slant against trans people. It *just* serves to isolate queer kids from community & knowledge.

Social media is definitely a double edged sword for trans and queer folks, especially given the shift in major platforms refusing to regulate transphobic speech - but cutting queer kids off from online community obviously just makes everything worse.

The media's enthusiasm to pick up the mobile phone ban framing is pretty suspicious too - because an obvious side effect of banning social media for young people would be cutting trans kids from being able to learn about queerness and participate in online queer spaces.

The reporting re. Brianna Ghey in the last year has demonstrated that trans people cannot be the objects of sympathy - even when we are viciously murdered children. The object of sympathy in all of this reporting has been Brianna's cis mother, and her personal crusade against mobile phones.

Considering autistic people self harm at a higher rate than the general population, I can't see why this restriction is in place? Like that's just cutting a bunch of people out of a diagnosis pathway for no good reason

So the autism assessment referral form for my local health service has a question about self harm and suicidal ideation, and it explicitly says that if you are struggling with those issues you're flat out not eligible for referral???
