Man, it's also shockingly dumb (going back through the thread to see what was said first) that Tom doesn't think the public sees Reagan badly--like, he knows "the public" includes gays Reagan let die by the thousands and People of Color he actively oppressed and vilified right?

I'm increasingly convinced (and expanded on it a bit in a follow up thread) that it's a dedicated and intentional project by the elite. Like, it's literally just never been true in my lifetime, if it ever was, that Dems are too far left. But it's taken as god's truth.

It's pathological at this point; any commentator telling you that the period beginning with Clinton's first term and ending with Biden's only one represents a sustained shift towards leftism is either lying or too stupid to know they're lying. But it's so ingrained even Dems repeat it!

The real, actual leftist movements in this country have waves of assassinations, imprisonments, infiltrations, and going underground as the last page of their stories, but for so many it's always the convention of '68 and Dems fault they can never punch left hard enough...
