I’ve had a few myself — including one in 2024 for 7 km/h over — and recently went to an office where fines can be paid to clear them. I got there shortly after 4 p.m. and asked a Toronto police officer on security duty in the lobby for directions. He said they wouldn’t process my tickets after 4 p.m. and that I’d have to come back, but earlier in the day. We started chatting — I’ve always found most police to be friendly — and I mentioned to him that the speed cameras are deadly efficient. “They’re not just efficient, they’re a f——— scam,” he told me emphatically, a second cop working with him nodding in agreement.

I'd say our Marxist Leninist candidate, Christine Nugent, was both inoffensive and uninspiring.

The very first policy presented by the Centrist Party candidate, Imran Khan, was about there being no sex ed in schools. Not only am I sure that is *not* a federal issue, it's also... am I crazy, that doesn't seem particularly... centrist.

Actually, the PPC candidate, Michael Poulin, also got a laugh (...at), when he brought up the tariffs and, "Trump only asked us to deal with the fentanyl!" The audience did not let that slide.

Bill Blair gave out a Liberal classic of, "Working for the middle class, and those working to join it." I actually feel like Blair got fairly respectfully blasted at our all-candidates meeting. Like, not in a way that would make a fun youtube compilation, but enough to know he can't just say shit.

A very simplified form of my considerations for my federal endorsement in Scarborough Southwest: the NDP (Fatima Shaban) and Green (Amanda Cain) candidates both talked about their struggles as lower income individuals. Literally no one else did.
