I wonder how they plan to cool the reactor without any water of even without air. The void is a bad heat exchanger. 😉
Anyway, while they cannot even land a man on the moon, landing a heavy reactor is out of the question. They promise us the Moon, but cannot deliver.

Je dirais un an, ce qui correspond à un EROI de 25, pas du tout exceptionnel avec les grandes éoliennes.

We should open a pool. On what month will the capacity fall under 3 million tons?

They should also call Russia Moscovy.

Too bad. You'd actually need a bear to attack the helicopter of a group of scientists studying a volcanic eruption. Points would be raining all over you.

IEA projections are based on the stated intents of the member countries, but the resources are lacking and the timeframe is completely irrealistic, for technologies that are not even ready. The projections here are therefore baseless and should be ignored.
27.07.2025 02:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
There was little movement. It's just started below the normal in 2014 due to Fukushima and it's been flat for the last 7-8 years. The IEA target is political, linked to member pressure, not technical. The capacity to build any substantial capacity before 2035 is nonexistent.

They promise to do so, but have little behind them to prove it. Anyway, most models are not even approved yet. Who really plans to build a commercial SMR before 2030. I'm not ware of any firm commitment. STgis is pure wishful thinking and it's annoying.
26.07.2025 21:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
The current projects only compensate for the old or non competitive reactors being shut down. Plus, SMR take as long as large reactors to build in real life. Most are not even ready to be built - design unfinished. It's unlikely that there will be many by 2035.
26.07.2025 16:14 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
That's nonsense - or wishful thinking. There can't be that amount of nuclear power by 2035, because nuclear power plants take longer than ten years to plan and to build. The current ongoing projects will barely sustain the production at the current level.

En fait, de nos jours, c'est probablement plus près de 6 mois. Le rendement s'améliore un peu, mais ce sont surtout les méthodes de fabrication qui réduisent grandement le coût énergétique.

The idea was circulated by Elvira Nabiullina, IIRC. She was opposed to it, but it must have come form some high place if she felt compelled to talk about it.

Any news of this old rumor saying that the Russians' money would be seized and be converted to shares of the defence companies? Could it still happen?

I've captured two opossums in the past couple of weeks, trying to catch groundhogs dans squirrels. Strange little beasts, they were the first I saw for real - they're a rare and recent occurrence here in the area.

Another reason is that corn syrup is easier to digest. You can't drink as much soda made from cane sugar without feeling bloated or sick. Corn syrup helps Coca Cola to sell more of its stuff.

You've got a point, I'm overthinking this. The Russian probably believe that the hens are disloyal to Putin or that they are ukrainian drones in disguise.

Yes, but I don't really get the part about "no remuneration for producers". Why would the state decide this? Surely they know this will destroy the vital egg industry. What's the rationale for such a decision? Are they saving the feed for human consumption next winter?
16.07.2025 16:15 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
You mean that the official price won't allow the egg producers to cover their expenses? Is the price rfeally much lower, or has the price of the feed increased because of shortages? Either way, it's a basic staple that's going out.

I don't get it. Not so long ago, the Russians were in despair because of the egg shortage and the skyrocketing prices. What's going on? They simply can't afford the eggs anymore? With potatoes also being rare and unaffordable, they're limited to buckwheat gruel? Will they survive next winter?
