Learning that Jamie Kennedy envisioned Son Of The Mask as his own version of Monkeybone during production makes so, sooooo much sense, so much of Son Of The Mask’s abrasive CGI DNA feels like it’s trying to emulate Monkeybone’s practical prowess.

Forever perplexed by the film Monkeybone. I know I've seen it at least twice. I never remember how it went, other than it was profoundly strange and I wanted to like it more than I did. But I think tonight, as I watch it for maybe the third time, it will be the time I finally get it.
