A bronze statue, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, standing in Seattle's Peace Park. The statue depicts a little girl, Sadako Sasaki, holding up an origami crane. Since this picture was taken, the statue has been stolen and not replaced.

I'm sorry to learn that the statue, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, was stolen last year. A replacement statue is being designed and it is expected to be erected next year. I look forward to leaving paper cranes at its feet.
