We had a lot of open fields and former walnut and filbert orchards. We also had a “ditch” that we used to catch tadpoles in. And we had an abandoned gravel pit we used to swim in that was later discovered to be a toxic superfund site. And yet I don’t glow in the dark or never grew a tail…
