It is not a question of those schools of thoughts embracing socialist goals (that is a positive) it is rather a question of what schools of thoughts socialists embrace. It is positive if analytical philosophers become socialists, less positive in my opinion if socialists become analytical.

And then they slowly but quietly dropped Marxism to go over to philosophical egalitarianism, or methodological individualism, or communitarianism, etc. and not for petty reasons either. I think you end up with sort of inherent problems when you try to communicate the world so "clearly and concisely"

What is the concrete issue with what I write here?

Whilst like most political terms, "socialism" has also been used in a variety of ways, the defining aspect of the concept has always been that it is not capitalism. In the broadest sense, "socialism" describes a system where the means of production are owned socially. This is not the case in the US.
