Garwood teen charged with murder, accused of plowing down Cranford girls on e-bike A 17-year-old male from Garwood has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The driver who struck and killed Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas both 17 in Union County, NJ, was charged with 2 counts of 1st Degree murder after posting a bizarre YouTube video. The suspect allegedly stalked Maria for months.

Fatal Bicycle Crash Report – September 2, 2025
A preliminary investigation details a tragic incident in the 16th District on Belmont Avenue, where a bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle. Two carsβ€”a black Dodge Charger and a black Chryslerβ€”were reportedly speeding northbound when one collided with the cyclist traveling east on Avenue of the Republic. The impact caused critical injuries, and the victim was later pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center at 10:24 am. Police observed one of the vehicles on the 3200 block of Sedgley St shortly after the crash and seized the vehicle for further examination. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
