Being accountable to an international court means our Government has to answer to them if it tries to undermine your human rights. Be very suspicious of any UK politician who wants to remove that check on their powers.

Share this and speak up for your freedoms.

Leaving the ECHR won’t fix illegal migration Half-baked tales of rulings turning on chicken nuggets are no basis for cutting Britain adrift

Tories and Reform want to quit the European Convention on Human Rights.

Since 1980, the ECHR court has heard 29 cases of immigrant deportation. UK won 16. No defeats in the last 5 yrs.

Quitting ECHR won't fix illegal immigration, will destroy our freedoms and rights.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Resisting chlorinated chicken
To The Daily Telegraph

Chlorinated chicken is banned in Britain not because of risks to human health, but because this method of decontamination is required as a consequence of intensive rearing methods, poor animal welfare procedures, and overcrowding and unsanitary conditions in abattoirs and processing plants.
Such low standards, intended to reduce costs, also constitute unfair competition for British farmers.
The issue of hormone-treated beef and dairy cows is similarly misunderstood. American dairy farmers are permitted to use bovine somatotropin (BST), which increases the yield of dairy cows by up to 25%. Udders are 25% heavier, increasing teat damage and production stress, which raises susceptibility to mastitis. The resultant reduction in productive life, perhaps to as few as two lactations, is of scant concern to a Wisconsin farmer who can benefit from the buoyant market in processed cull beef. British farmers are rightly prevented from using BST, and it would be unfair to expect them to compromise their standards in the face of American competition.
There is one effect that may have direct significance for human health: the persistence of BST in milk results in higher levels of insulin-like growth factor-1, which has been implicated in the increase in several cancers and cardiovascular diseases. It is said that pasteurisation destroys these residues, but most cheeses cannot be made from pasteurised milk without further chemical additions, which may be why there are so few distinctive cheeses in America.
Keir Starmer must not trade away our food standards as part of tariff negotiations. We are as indignant about American animal welfare as J.D. Vance seems to be about the control of anti-abortion demonstrations outside UK clinics.

So many reasons to focus on the EU, not the US.

Why is the government happy to cosy up to China, but won't even look at a better customs deal with our closest neighbours in Europe?

Ministers say they’re looking everywhere for growth but are ignoring what is staring them in the face.

We desperately need to protect the British Media and Press from the far right.

We need:

- The Leveson Enquiry part 2

- An immediate review of lobbying and political donation laws

If you care about the future of the NHS & you see this on Boxing Day, please could you share this?

If we want privatisation to be removed from the NHS, NHS campaigners like me have a *lot* of work to do next year and…I’d just like to see if people care enough about this for our campaigning to work…
