For me, books are the perfect entertainment, no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment. I can escape into worlds, learn new things. Reading helps to center me.

A stack of paperback books resting on a mustard yellow armchair. There is a black cushion behind the stack. Some of the books have bookmarks in them. The books are: ‘Hamnet’ by Maggie O’Farrell, ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ by Bernadine Evaristo, ‘The Devil in the Marshalsea’ by Antonia Hodgson, ‘Try This At Home’ by Frank Turner, ‘The Girl with the Louding Voice’ by Abi Daré, ‘Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd’ by Jonas Jonasson, ‘The Confessions of Frannie Langton’ by Sara Collins, ‘We are all Completely Beside Ourselves’ by Karen Joy Fowler
Recently rescued my final box of books from the in-laws’ garage, where we stored our stuff before moving in.
Very excited to finish some of these partially-reads and re-read some of the other ones before I give them a new home at a charity shop somewhere #booksky

The cover art shows two of ‘the stacks’ of caravan/trailers, which are both scaffolded together to make a tower block of dangerous housing for the characters at the start of the novel
Two things I’ve decided today:
1) I don’t get solo coffee book time as much as I’d like anymore.
2) don’t always let #booksky reviews put you off reading or consuming something - not everything creative has to be ‘art’. ‘Entertaining’ is justifiable by itself!
